Hawaii Tech Week
Founded in 2024, Hawaii Tech Week's (formerly Honolulu Tech Week) mission is to accelerate the growth of technology talent, capital, and adoption in Hawaii's economy.
HTW is an annual week of individual events that brings together Hawaii's entire tech community and ecosystem from AI engineer to founder and students to policy makers and executives.
Events are hosted by leaders and companies connected to Hawaii's tech ecosystem and held at company offices, coworking spaces, event venues, universities, restaurants and more.

Introduction to UX - 3 Session Series
Location: ITS Building, Room 105AB
Join us for a series of UXHI workshops to start building a career in the UX/UI pathway!
Session 1 (September 29): Think Like Your User
Great software isn't just functional; it's intuitive, useful, and built around the people who use it. In this interactive introduction to User Experience (UX), you'll learn how successful products begin by understanding users rather than jumping straight into code. Through real-world examples and hands-on activities, you'll practice identifying user needs, uncovering pain points, and reframing problems from a human-centered perspective.
Session 2 (September 30): Designing Solutions
Once you understand the problem, how do you design a solution? This workshop introduces the fundamentals of translating user insights into intuitive experiences. You'll learn how designers organize information, map user journeys, sketch ideas, and create wireframes before development begins. By the end of the session, you'll have built your first low-fidelity prototype and experienced how rapid iteration can save time and improve outcomes.
Session 3 (October 1): Testing, Collaboration, and Careers
The best products aren't perfect on the first try. They improve through feedback and collaboration. In this final workshop, you'll learn how usability testing helps teams validate ideas early and reduce costly mistakes. You'll test prototypes, identify usability issues, and explore how engineers, designers, product managers, and researchers work together to build successful products. We'll conclude with insights into UX careers and how these skills can strengthen your future software engineering projects.
