The first time you go to GPS Registration in STAR, you may need to confirm your emergency contact and/or confirm your contact information.
Check your account for any "Holds" that might prevent you from registering: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=va_MB3ifK9k
This is rare for a new student, but it could happen.
If you have a Hold and it says it will affect registration on/before July 21, contact the office that placed the hold about how to remove the hold.
Some Holds will say something like theyʻll take effect in August if you donʻt fix it by then. These holds should not affect July 21-25 initial registration.
In future semesters, always check for holds several times before registration day as various offices may place holds at different times (e.g., payment due holds, library fine due hold, health hold, advising hold, etc.) and you wonʻt want to get stuck the morning of your registration finding you didn't take care of a hold earlier.
You may need to make adjustments if some of the sections you put in filled up.
For some of you, you will press submit and get all your preferred courses. Congratulations!
Others may need to go to your backup course list or search for backups (see Selecting Classes)
You should finish the day with 15-16 registered credits in most cases.
If you run into problems registering, see our Common Registration issues page.
Donʻt manually create blocks on your Google calendar for all your classes! Just sync your STAR class schedule with your UH Google calendar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ol31Sp2Pwe8
