Dr. Tyndall is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa. His research focuses on urban issues, particularly housing markets. He is the lead author of UHERO’s annual Hawaiʻi Housing Factbook, which provides data-driven analysis of the state’s housing market. Justin holds a PhD in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Urban Planning from New York University.

Dr. Aluli Meyer has been an Associate Professor of Education at University of Hawai‘i at Hilo and spent five years in New Zealand as the lead designer/teacher for He Waka Hiringa, an innovative Masters in Applied Indigenous Knowledge degree at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, the largest Māori university with 30,000+ students. Dr. Aluli-Meyer is currently the Konohiki for Kūlana o Kapolei (A Hawaiian Place of Learning at University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu).

Alana Kobayashi Pakkala is the CEO and Partner of Kobayashi Group, bringing nearly two decades of leadership in real estate development, design, and project management. She has played a key role in delivering some of Hawaiʻi’s most prominent luxury condominium projects, including Park Lane Ala Moana, ONE Ala Moana, and Hokua, while also advancing affordable housing initiatives across Oʻahu. Kali Watson was appointed Chairman of the Hawaiian Homes Commission by Governor Josh Green in 2023, having previously served in the same role from 1995 to 1998. During his tenure, he helped deliver over 3,100 residential lots, implement a $600 million state settlement, and facilitate major land transfers to support the Hawaiian Home Lands trust. As President & CEO of the Hawaiian Community Development Board, he has led impactful community projects, including the Nānākuli Village Center and affordable housing developments across Hawaiʻi. Dave Sellers is a co-founder of Hawaii Off-Grid Architecture & Engineering (HIOG), specializing in sustainable and resilient design. His career began as a ship’s engineer in Alaska, an experience that shaped his technical expertise before earning a master’s degree from the Delft University of Technology. He later worked with The Nature Conservancy, leading renewable energy initiatives at Palmyra Atoll that significantly reduced costs and environmental impact. A leader in Hawaiʻi’s design community, he has supported Maui wildfire recovery efforts, advances innovative housing solutions, and serves on the board of Habitat for Humanity Maui.
