The Hulihia Summit 2026 convenes ACMWO instructors and community leaders working across Hawaiʻi’s affordable housing and affordability landscape for a dynamic day of learning, knowledge exchange, and collaborative curriculum design.
Centered on the theme of preparing and empowering ACMWO instructors and students, this interdisciplinary gathering explores pressing challenges—such as affordable housing, economic resilience, and community envisioning—through the lenses of creativity, systems thinking, collaboration, and innovation.
Hosted by the Academy for Creative Media at the University of Hawaiʻi – West Oʻahu, the summit is designed to equip the faculty with the insights, partnerships, and curricular frameworks needed to guide students in applying their creative talents, research capacity, and storytelling skills toward real-world impact.
Through guided conversations, facilitated dialogue, and hands-on curriculum-building sessions, participants will co-design pathways that honor place, people, and pilina while contributing to a more resilient and equitable future for Hawaiʻi’s people.
