Locate the original video footage, statistical figures or research papers

A (ANALYZE the headline)

Check the headline- does it seem like the headline is just looking to get a reaction?

B (BIAS)

We all have what is called a "Confirmation Bias." It is out own internal bias to wish and believe what we are reading it true!

L (LOOK to fact checkers)

A good place to start to vet your facts? Try Snopes , Politifact or FactCheck!

This will help you as a journalist make sure that you are not spreading misleading or untrue facts.

E (EXERT Impulse Control)

Before adding facts to your assignments for journalism, or at home, sharing news articles, tweets, memes or images- do your homework! Follow the rules of FABLE before sharing or writing to keep your integrity as a journalist!
