Elementary Reading Grades K-5

Mission Statement: The mission of the Hauppauge Elementary Reading Department is to provide the opportunity for our students to become readers, writers and lifelong learners in a safe, nurturing learning environment guided by the principles of balanced literacy and aligned with the New York State Standards. By using a variety of genres it is our goal to prepare all students to comprehend and analyze complex text and develop a love of literacy.
