In the last 9 weeks i have done and learned a lot. We did a total of 12 projects. Some projects we could decide what we wanted to do but other Mr. Renner would pick for us. Projects that i picked were reverse engineering, 3d printing, and coding. All of these i picked what i was going to do with them. Like i decided to take apart a laptop and also i designed a gravity fed plant holder. Somethings that Mr. Renner picked is the snow day video and a we had to create a resume.
I have learned so many things in this class like. For example like how to use scratch. Scratch is a format of programming. You drag blocks in place to create a sequence of events and can put things in like variables and delays.Something else that i have learned is how to use a cad program. LIke how you change the measurement of the object and how to combine the things together.
Over all this has be a every fun experience. But there were some challenges. Like not having the right screwdriver sometimes to take apart the computer. But Mr. Renner would always find a way around that. Another thing that i struggled with in this class is no having enough time to get a project done because it would take longer than i thought it would. But Mr. renner was understanding about that even if it might that i would temporarily have a bad grade on the project. But the biggest issue i had was not knowing sometimes what exactly i was doing and Mr. Renner telling me to google it or giving me a brief description. But this taught me how to figure things out on my own.
This class will help some much in many of our future because the more time goes on the more things will be done over a computer. This could help us stand out on a resume ( because most 13 and 14 year olds aren't creating 3d designs and printing them or creating advertisements for credit unions that are put on Tv). Also this will help if we ever go into a force that needs these skills because most people would learn these skills in college but we would have a head start and be more desirable.
