What is Design Thinking?
Design Thinking is the process that encourages people to explore alternitives that have not existed before. Engineers and designers use this method very often. Design thinking focuses on the needs of the user. Design thinking is by direct observation and qualitive data. The google definition of Design Thinking is "Design Thinking refers to the cognitive, strategic and practical processes by which design concepts are developed."
The steps in Design Thinking
There are 5 steps to the Design Thinking process. Empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Empathizing is the first step. It's understanding the problem based on the person who will be using it in the end. It's essentially grasping the situation as a whole. The next step would be to define. Define is a reflection on the problem presented and figuring out a plan on how to approach and create a solution. It is not only that but interpreting it as a whole for a defined plan. The third step is to ideate. Ideate is imagining the solution. Research is taken into place to bring this image to a reality. It is what they would call the creative stage. Prototype is the 4th step. Prototype is the physical solution that is created. It brings the the ideate stage to life. The final step would be to Test. Testing is where the prototype is reviewed and tested. The prototype may be adjusted if need so. This is finalizing the solution for the end user.
