7P4 - "Augmented Reality"

Using an iPad, a cube, and the computer, I created a video of Luke fighting a shark because I wanted to make a funny story that I would have fun creating. I got to add people to look exactly how I wanted them to look and have them do different animations. This was fun to do and I had an AI script that I used for creating the whole project.

During this process, I learned how to add different animations to different custom people. I also learned how to get all the right characters to look how I wanted to and make them be able to speak and have thoughts. Doing these things helped me create a better scene and make it more entertaining to watch. This helped me have a fun time creating this project.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative designer because I used digital tools to make a good design process and used my mistakes as data. It also connects to Empowered Learner because I set a goal for myself and I completed it.

A challenge I overcame on this project was being able to make everything flow good. I was able to do it by making my characters move how my script wanted them to and made them talk. I also didn't know how to take a picture of my project and someone helped me take a picture and I learned how to because they brought me through the steps.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change my story. The reason why I would change it is because it didn't have all the parts that I would have liked to have. I would have made some of my characters do more things and move in more accurate ways that would match my story better.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. It connects to this because I had to design all of the characters to look how I wanted and say what I wanted.

My project connects to careers in 3D Animator because I would rig 3D assets and apply movement, lighting, and visual storytelling cues. It would also connect to Technical Artist because I had to make sure that my 3D cube visual elements and animations would look good and correctly to the underlying code. Finally, it also connects toan XR Developer because I'll have users look through a phone or headset and see a digital holographic cube that tells a story.
