In my project, I am working by myself. The materials that I need for my project include a recording device (tablet, phone, etc.), a place to record, and props. I plan to create a movie with my recording device, props, and area to record. Unique properties that my movie will have include a recording of something (related to western movies/exciting), a title, and a western-style character(s) in the trailer.
This is the finished project, here, you can see the video after all of the recordings. I have recorded all of these recordings with my tablet on the iMovie app. In the iMovie app, there is a special option where you can record a movie trailer. I made a fake cardboard gun to use as a revolver in my western film.
These are one of the "scenes" that I had filmed. There were many scenes like it that did not go into the trailer, since I did not think that they were good enough, there was much trial and error, but I believe that I did the best that I could have.
Using iMovie, a cardboard gun, and myself (and great acting abilities), I created a movie. I created my movie because I felt like putting my movie-making skills to the test. I also made a cardboard gun because I wanted the movie to be more realistic.
During this process, I learned that camera angle is very important because some bad angles can make the entire movie look terrible. During the process, I learned that super-gluing is important because if you do it wrong, it can ruin everything.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Creative Communicator. It ties to this because I used new tools and am open about it.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making the cardboard gun. I was able to do it by successfully gluing the cardboard together and making it resemble a gun. Given a chance to do this again, I would change the look of the gun. The reason why I would change it is that I feel that the gun does not look real enough, even though I probably did the best that I could with the time that I had.
