The video is the game level being used, and cleared. The photo is the game code before being put into the game.
Using bloxels my group created a game level. We made this game level because we needed a better understanding of how to work the app, and coding to create the level. The level has many different parts to it such as the land, coins, and enemies.
During this process we learned how to strategically place blocks to make the level not to difficult to pass. We also learned how to scan the board without colored blocks to create the level. We were able to figure out how to make the character in the level move as well as shoot to get through it.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer, and Digital citizen because we had to come up with a simple yet interesting code for the level and during the video I was able to keep peoples faces and names out.
A challenge I overcame on this project was trying to create a code that wasn’t too difficult to pass. In the beginning, the main issue was putting too many of the enemies at one time making it difficult to pass all of them. It was also difficult to make the character fight them off at the correct time.
Given a chance to do his project again I would try to make a more difficult level with less bad guys and more coins. If I do this then it will be much better for the player to feel the accomplishment of winning. I also hope to be able to make more than one level.
This project connects to careers in Video Game Coding. The requirements and the different factors all are very similar to what it would look like when creating a video game.
