Using the materials found near Mr. Renner's desk and tape and cardboard in the cabinets, I created a pickle ball paddle because we are currently playing pickle ball in gym and i enjoy playing pickle ball with my brother.

During this process, I learned how to make a pickle ball and a pickle ball ball i made the paddle by layering three strips of cardboard and tapping it to three layers of big cardboard then tapping it all in tape, and i made the ball by putting a ring of cardboard in another ring and putting tape on it.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to computational thinker, creative communicator and global collaborator because I made something and improved it, I made something that i like and I'm sharing it by publishing it.

A challenge I overcame on this project was The strength of the pickle ball paddle was to weak to support the ball which was really heavy. I was able to do it by adding three cardboard cut outs of the pickleball paddle and taped them together to make it stronger. Then I added more layers of tape to make it sturdy and then it was strong enough to withstand the force of the ball.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the extent of my project I would add more pickle ball stuff to my project like a pickle ball net i can use or a mini pickle ball court with a mini net and mini pickle ball paddles and balls. The reason why I would change it is because it would be fun to add more of the sport i like.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing.  My project connects to the construction trades, CTE program at Hastings High School.  

My project connects to careers in DIY stores or stores like ace because I made my pickle ball paddle by my self with my hands and i can make other stuff that people ask for so then i can make it for them and then they give my the money for it and the price is going to be high because i do all the work.
