Daily Log:
Every day that you work on your project you need to tell me what you did and most days have at least one picture. Example: “Day One - worked on my list of 10 Good Ideas while Googling about …”
Day 1: I figured out how to turn on the micro bit and how to use it with a help of a friend. I then added my name onto the micro bit.
Day 2: I followed a tutorial on how to make shapes onto the micro bit. After that, I added some things I love, like sports.
Day3: I followed another tutorial and figured out how to make cool patterns, so, I added a couple of patterns and said hello on it.
Day 4: I learned how to make a cool cat from a tutorial , so I added that to my micro bit.
Day 5: I followed once again, another tutorial and learned how to make the game rock, paper scissors. So, I added that to my micro bit.
Day 6: I learned how to make a magic 8 ball from a tutorial.
Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need a micro bit, and my computer.
What is your plan to create in this project?
My plan is to create cool patterns or animals on the micro bit.
What unique qualities will your project have?
My project will have a couple of animals, like a cat and cool patterns, like a wave in the ocean.
I figured our how to put my name in the micro-bit!
I added different shapes in my microbit, and then I put some things I love on it!
I learned how to make patterns, so I made a couple of patterns, and then added the words hello after it!
I learned how to make a cat from a tutorial!
I followed a tutorial and I learned how to make the game rock, paper, scissors.
I learned how to make a magic 8 ball form a tutorial.
Using a micro bit, I created different patterns, animals, and my name because I followed tutorials on how to make these patterns, animals, and my name.
During this process, I learned how to code micro bits.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I was creative with these ideas I put on the micro bit.
A challenge I overcame on this project was learning how to make a game on the micro bit. I was able to do it by watching tutorial, and following it step by step.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change some of the patterns I made. The reason why I would change it is because I could've been a little more creative and I could've added some more patterns.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in software engineering because I coded a micro bit.
