Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working in a group of three.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need cardboard, paper, and hot glue.
What is your plan to create in this project?
My plan is to create a volleyball court that is somewhat realistic.
What unique qualities will your project have?
There will be a " volleyball sticking up in the air, while a player is about to spike it.
Daily Log:
Every day that you work on your project you need to tell me what you did and most days have at least one picture. Example: “Day One - worked on my list of 10 Good Ideas while Googling about …”
Day 1: Me and my partners started to talk about what we wanted to build until the end of class. We choose to build a volleyball court.
Day 2: We started to build the court and talk and looked at picture of volleyball courts.
Day 3: We then started with the hardest part which was the net. I did that while my partners worked on a table.
Day 4: I started to work on the players while my friends would build lots of chairs.
Day 5: We kept on working on people and chairs.
Day 6: We finished the project.
We started talking about what we wanted to build!
We started to build our court!
We worked on a table and chairs!
We worked on the players and a lot of chairs!
We still worked on the players and more chairs!
We finished up the players and the ref and then we finished!
Using cardboard, paper and hot glue, I created a volleyball court because Hailey, Summer and I all thought that it would be very cool.
During this process, I learned how to use cardboard to build things and make use of what I have.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to a Innovative Designer because my partners and I were very creative, and we had to use our thinking for this design.
A challenge I overcame on this project was using hot glue for the first time. I was able to do it by the help of my partners teaching me how to use it.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the color of the court. The reason why I would change it is because I thought it looks a bit to plain.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in Product Designing because my partners and I first talked and sketched out what the court would look like!
