Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I'm working in a team with Angie
What materials will you need for your project?
We will need the the blocks and an iPad.
What is your plan to create in this project?
We plan to build a bridge using wooden blocks
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will have balancing blocks and be pretty big
Using blocks , we built a bridge using a lot of little blocks and balancing them. During this process, I learned how to keep the blocks in place while trying to balance others and having to have a steady hand so I didn't knock the bridge over. The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative designer because I used other tools too help me fix problems with building the bride and having to alter it to make it work well. A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out how to stack and build up the blocks while only having a 2-D picture that didn't really show how it was built. I was able to do it by coming up with ideas that could work and talking with my partner and figuring out the best solution. Given a chance to do this again, I would change the size of the building. The reason why I would change because I think that I could do the same bridge but on a bigger scale. Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in architecture because architects use building blocks to show a model of buildings that could be built.
