Day 1: I started using the sphero app on the Ipad to get the hang of using it and looking at the tutorials and at what other people have done to see what we could do on our project.
Day 2: For day 2 we made the bowling pins out of cardboard and cut them out. We also practiced how we were going to use our robots and did a few trial and error out in the hallway.
Day 3: we went in to the hall and started programing our sphero ,this time without a lot of errors, and we decided what was the best for this project.
Day 4: we took the video of sphero and edited the video so that we could finish this page on our website.
This is our video for the sphero. we made a code that would work but first we had created codes that hadn't worked when we tested them in the hallway.
Using sphero, I created a programed robot because it is something that I haven't done before and I wanted to try it and see if it was something that I liked to do . During this process, I learned how to code and what I needed to put first in order for the code to work smoothly. The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to empowered learner because I set a goal to learn how to code while doing this project and by the end of this project I learned to code the robot, control it without coding, and what to put in the code. A challenge I overcame on this project was having to retry multiple codes and fixing the code to go correctly and how I wanted it to be. I was able to do it by looking at the tutorials and looking at what other people have done to get an idea on what to do. Given a chance to do this again, I would change the complexity of the code to make it longer and better. The reason why I would change it is because I wonder if I could be able to make the code longer and more fun to watch. Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the computer programing CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in network system administrator because they maintain computing environments in their networks and prevent disasters by backing up data. Providing network security and avoiding viruses are the major tasks, along with making sure codes are free of errors and protecting both the network and hardware of the computers.
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working in a team with angie
What materials will you need for your project?
we will need an ipad and a sphero
What is your plan to create in this project?
we plan to play around with the app for a few days to get the hang of how to control the sphero then we will program it to do something.
What unique qualities will your project have?
the unique quality our project has is the light that is on the top of the sphero(you cant really see it in the video but it is a smiley face that is moving) .
