Planning Question
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working in a team of three people
What materials will you need for your project?
iPad, two dash robots and space
What is your plan to create in this project?
My plan to create this project is to make a dash robot race with another dash robot across the floor.
What unique qualities will your project have?
A unique quality is that this project is made by our group.
A work in a different language: IRobot
fashion show: dot
A full sentence: IRobot
Race: Dash
Tic Tac Toe
Maze with the Dash
Smiley face
Not doing it face
canon with dash
hide and seek with two robots
Day 1- Today I made this sub-page and started with one of my first challenges I chose to do.
Day 2-Today I started to make the sling-shot for the dot I had a lot of ups and downs in today work .
Day 3-Today I started to see if anyone had an opening for a new person And I was lucky to land with the team I got because I started off alone no team.
Day 4-Today I started off by grabbing my iPad and signing in and I started messing with the controls of the mini so i could find out more about how it works and functions of the mini.
Day 5- Today We finished the IRobot video and started the Dash project.
Day 6-Today we made the dash jump using A coding app for the Dash.
Day 7-Today We made the code for the Mini and Started making shapes.
Day 8-Today our videographer started on the video for the mini but ran out of time to finish it.
Day 9-Today we are starting the extra credit for this project and we are doing the race with the dash robots.
Day 10-Today I started on the reflection part of this project.
Day 11-Today I resumed Working on the reflection And finished
Using an iPad, iMovie, 3 different robots (Dash, Sphero Bolt, Sphero Mini and iRobot), and the apps Sphere.edu, iRobot Coding, and Wonder Workshop, I created 4 cool codes for the robots. We made the robot write HEY. (But one letter at a time.) For the second robot, I made the Sphero Mini do a square, and a hexagon. For the third robot I did Dash. I made Dash go over the the floor and I had him do a catapult with Lego's. I also did the extra credit by doing a race between two Dash robots.
During the process of making the video, I learned how to program 4 different robots all in 2 weeks. The first robot was hard-ish to code, sense we had to make it turn a bunch and I don't know how angles work, however, Zane does. I coded the "H", while Zane coded the "E" and we coded "Y" together. while Dennon sat there and waited to record. For the Sphero Mini, I was all alone but I coded it to drive in 2 shapes. Next, I coded Dash to do the catapult thing, then I coded Sphero Bolt with Zane to jump and spin crazily and have a countdown from 3.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Creative Communicator because I was in a group for two out of four of the robots and within those two groups, I communicated to my partners what to do. Me, Zane and Dennon all worked together to come up with writing the word "HEY". With just me and Zane, we worked together to decide to just do a countdown and make the Sphero Bolt jump.
A challenge I overcame on this project was finding partners for this project . To overcome this problem, By starting some projects if I didn't find a group the next two days. I also went out asking people if they had three people and if they didn't I would ask to join them.
Given a chance to do this project again, I would be more thorough with coding them. For example, for the iRobot I would write a four letter word and write it all on one code instead of 3 different codes which in my opinion would take longer than doing it in one, because I had to edit them together on iMovie. For the Sphero Mini I'd probably code it to drive in more shapes, and maybe I'd make it different colors for each shape. For the Sphero Bolt, I would make it flash brighter colors while moving and jumping around like a Dancer. Last but not least, for the Dash robot I would try to make a better looking/working catapult.
Hastings High School Carrier and Technical Education Program Offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the computer programming part because this whole project was coding four different robots, which are somewhat similar to computers.
