This was my first attempt of my coaster. As you can see, it's not terrible but the sticks are very uneven, so I wanted to make it better and try again.
This was my second attempt of making my coaster, it's a little better, but still not as good as I wanted.
This is the top and bottom of my final attempt at my coaster. It could be better but it's definitely a lot better than my first 2 attempts.
Here is a video of every angle of my coaster with a cup on it.
Using Popsicle Sticks and Hot Glue, I created a drink coaster because for out project we could make anything we wanted, and I wanted to actually build something instead of making something online.
During this process, I learned that a slight amount of movement could mess up the entire thing you’re building, so you have to be extremely careful to keep everything in place.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I got the idea from Google, then kind of made it my own, like chaging the size of the coaster and making it just a little different.
A challenge I overcame on this project was that my first 2 attempts weren’t the greatest. I was able to fix it by realizing what I did wrong in those attempts, and figure out what I could do to fix it.
Given a chance to do this again, I would make it cleaner and more even. The reason why I would change it is because I think it would look better, since a few of the popsicle sticks are out of line, and there’s some hot glue kind of poking out the sides of some of the sticks.
