Planning Questions

I am working by myself.

What materials will you need for your project?

Cardboard and miscellaneous plastic/paper.

What is your plan to create in this project?

a train that works.

What unique qualities will your project have?

it will move all wheels with one system.

Daily Log:

1. start on working with the wheel system.

2. work on the cardboard wheels and website.

3.  make the tracks for the wheels and make the body look good.

4. details for the wheels and body.

5. do more for the body and set up.

• Using cardboard,  I created a train with tank wheels because the idea seemed like something I would like to acutely make in the future.

• During this process, I learned what i can really do with cardboard and that its much more than packing  materials.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I'm thinking creatively.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was not really being able to bend cardboard like that. I was able to do it by using a different material.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the exhaust look. The reason why I would change it is because it didn't look very good.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Construction Trades CTE program at Hastings High School.  My project connects to careers in carpenters.
