Using Sphero Edu. , I created 2 codes for my different Spheros. Because I was assigned to make codes so my Spheros would go around a shape, and complete a maze. These projects were fairly easy to accomplish. Personally they were easier then most of the other projects.
During this process, I learned that the Sphero SPRKs are much easier to navigate around places then the Sphero Mini's. The Sphero project that we needed to program to get around the maze was a bit trickier because there were many more turns and the cardboard was a little bumpy. I enjoyed when we used the Sphero Mini more because it was easier to complete and there were less turns and less places to cover.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative designer because my project was is made by your choices and you have to use different codes and stuff. There was no correct code for this project.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making sharper turns. Also planning the turns to get to the right paths. The turns were harder with the Sphero Mini because the Mini glided across easier so It would go farther and wouldn't stop as easy.
I was able to do it by trying again and again til I got the code that worked the easiest. This took about 40 tries. But these were decently easy, just time consuming. I did enjoy this project the most so far though.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the shape I decided to drive my Sphero Mini around.. The reason why I would change it is because I think the rectangle I did at first was to simple. But it didn't take long so I had more time to get more work done.
This project connect to careers in making robots, traffic lights, movies, animations because in all you need to code, computer designer, anything that needs to be coded or built basically. Now that technology is improving, more and more coding with needs to be better and there is more of technology now.
