REFLECTION:

Using an iPad, computer, micro bit, and iMovie, chat GPT, I created a micro bit project that not only offered a great learning experience but also allowed me to have fun while exploring coding and technology.

During this process, I learned how to use the micro bit effectively, including how to program it to display my name on the screen. Additionally, I discovered how to transform my micro bit into a functioning dice, which was both challenging and rewarding.

The seven standards of our class include Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project aligns particularly well with the Empowered Learner standard, as I took the initiative to work independently and make decisions about my project direction.

One challenge I overcame during this project was the need to revisit and improve my work. By developing a clear plan and seeking advice from others, I was able to refine my approach and enhance the final outcome.

Hastings High School's Career and Technical Education Program offers a variety of fields, including Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project specifically connects to the Computer Programming program, as it involved hands-on coding and technological problem-solving.
