Using Sphero EDU, I created a code that programs my robot to surround the a square on a piece of paper because the project says to pick a shape and draw it, then go to your shpero EDU and code your robot to go around the outside of the shape..
During this process, I learned how to use different robots and how to program them. I also learned how to make my own leds on the sphero edu app to show up on the sphero bolts.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Creative Communicator because I had to go on an app and test different speeds, angles, ect. to communicate with the robot because the project said we have to create a code that tells the robot to go around the shape that you pick.
A challenge I overcame on this project was how to get the right angle, and how to have the robot not turn more than it needs to. I was able to do it by trying over and over again until i got the right angle on how much i wanted my robot to turn.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change my shape because I found it easy to find the angles for a square. The reason why I would change it is because it is too easy finding the right speeds and angles for a square .
This project connect to careers in Computer System Engineering.
