Using a button maker, I created Christmas themed buttons because Christmas break starts in 3 days.
During this process, I learned how to press the paper on the buttons with the design that I created. I also learned that you have to put the button at a certain angle for the slip to be horizontal with the design the right way.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructor because I had to figure out how to use the button maker and how to put the design it the right way. I also had to figure out how to put the supplies in the right order in able to create the button the right way.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making my design small enough so it wouldn't fold over the side of the button. I was able to do it by making my design smaller after the first time and then centering the design to fit it in the space for the button.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change my button design. The reason why I would change it is because I would like to create different things then Christmas buttons such as birthday buttons, new year buttons, ect.
This project connect to careers in is Button Designers, it connects to this job because I had to create different buttons like button designers do. I also had to size down the design of my button like button designers also do.
Here is when I put the start of the button in.
Here is the metal part to keep the button together.
Here is my design on top of my metal piece.
Here were my finished buttons.
