Tool : 3D printer

My light saber is three pieces, the blade, the hilt, and the end cap. All the pieces fit together and a dab of hot glue, everything is together, and is sound.
Useing the 3D printer, I created a lightsaber key chain, because I think that it is iconic and will sell well.
During this project I learned to use cad to make 3D prints. This could be applied to making solutions to problems, and fun ideas.Using 3D printing people before me have created both of these things, even a Nerf blaster.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to empowered learner because I learned to solve problems with a 3D printer.Learning how to solve problems with a 3D printer could lead to being a global collaborator and selling my product with others.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making my lightsaber hilt not need supports. I was able to do it by useing thin designs for detailing. This allowed me to cut down on the cost of building the lightsaber key chain.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the detail on the hilt of the lightsaber and make it thinner to save on filament. The reason why I would change it is because it would look nicer and save money
This project connect to careers in engineering and the engineer and design at Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program.
