I am making a Hastings Saxons logo magnet for the Saxon Den in the high school.
Tool: 3D printer
List of 25:
I have to make the hole in the back of the H and make the letters smaller with a smaller angle.
In the first picture the two S's were floating so i had to put something there to hold them there. I added a hole into it because it is going to be a magnet.
Using a 3D printer, I created a Hastings Saxons magnet i did this because I haven't seen many 3D printed magnets before. So I thought people would buy it from the Saxon store. I hope that it will sell well in the store.
During this process, I learned how to make a 3D model and send an stl file. I also learned how to set up the 3D printer to print the thing. The last thing I learned was how to use the design process and understand the process.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative designer because I am designing and creating this product to put in the Saxon Den. I also think this connects to being an Empowered learner because this has shown me how a 3D printer works and how to do all the steps to finish the job.
A challenge I overcame on this project was to find the size of the item and the angle of the Saxons word . I was able to overcome this problem by asking class mates how to fix this and ask the teacher.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the product its self. I think it would be a lot better if I made a key chain or some thing in that field. The reason why I would change it is because it was a hassle to gent the words high enough to not block the hole and stuff like that..
This project connect to careers in the inventing and designer field because you are designing and putting this stuff in a store in the high school and the marketing because you are selling the product you just made and possibly making money off this product. At Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program.
