project 11

For my 11 project I created a 3D print for the Saxon Den to sell at the high school. I created a H with Saxons engraved into it with a hole in the middle so it can go on your shoe lace. I created this because I wanted some thing to tie to Hastings but is unique to me, and could sell and make income at the den.

During this project I learned the process of make prototypes to get the print right. Also in this project I learned the proces of making something of a price and selling it at a higher price. This is an important thing to learn because if you sell something for less they you made it for you won't make any money, if you sell it for more you will make money.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because this is my project my idea and design. It also ties to Computational Thinker because if I had a problem I fixed use resources on the computer. And it ties to Global Collaborator this is because I put my projects on my website so the world can see.

A challenge I over came during this project was the size of the product so my project would not brake and I would have to redo it again. I over came this project by making multiple prototypes until I got the finial product I wanted. This is a tough problem to over come because there is always something that can be tweaked.

If I was given a chance to do this project again the one thing that I would change is the holes in the middle of the H. I would change this because if the holes were not there it would improve the neatness of the project. I would change this by making the hole smaller but big enough so a shoe lace can go through, as well I would make the H bigger to also help get ride of the holes

This project connect to careers in building because you can make the parts you need to build the object you need. It also connects to repair shop because you can print the part you need to fix an object. This is good to know because I know that there is some careers that I can pursue with my knowledge in 3D printing.
