Class Standards and Design Thinking
Standards:
In this class, we will be using the Michigan Integrated Technology Competencies for Students (MITECS) also known as the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards. For each standard, you will write a 3 to 5 sentence paragraph. Please use this link to create your paragraphs.
I, as the learner, am making a choice about my learning. I am making a determination as to whether or not I made my goal. I am using technology and feedback to improve my learning. I can transfer my technology skills from one device to another.
As a digital citizen I can responsibly share things online and describe what I want to say online. I know that every single thing that I write will be permanent and will be open to the world. I can stay on task and not mess around on the internet. I can talk appropriately and smartly while online.
I can use the internet to find what I need for projects. I am able to ask questions that are on topic and helpful to my work. I can responsibly use multiple websites at a time while working. I can use logic to determine whether or not I want to use a certain website or even use the information on the website at all.
I can stay on topic, not talk, and not distract others while others are working or I am working on a project. If I have a question I can first think it through and try to find a solution and then go to a teacher and ask the question without bothering anyone. If I get a bad grade on a test I can think about the question I got wrong and make a logical plan to fix it later.
I can use the things I know to find and describe the main problem with the info that comes with the problem. I am able to describe how computers use certain patterns to translate the letters and messages that you type in the computer. I can come up with ideas for certain problems that may come up on the computer or on work.
