7P2-"Cardboard Challenge"

Using hot glue, cardboard, duck tape and ipads and computers, I created captain america's shield because I was in search to create something unique and something cool. I created this because I watch all the marvel movies I am a huge fan. Also cause Captain america is my like top five favorite avengers in marvel.

During this process, I learned how to reneforce my design so it would not crumble after one hit. This led to it to become better casuue if I did not to layers if would have been weaker. If I did not do layers the strucer would have been weaker and easy to break it.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to A empowered learner because I made my project with my own choices and reflected on what I could do better. Also I was a computional thinker because i knew how to brain storm and search for what I wanted to build.

A challenge I overcame on this project was learning how to give  structure to the shield. I was able to do it by learning and experimenting on how to make it like the handle on the back was trial and error. This trail and error led to the shield becoming better and better also stronger and more support for the body of the shield.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the color of the shield and make the sides better. The reason why I would change it is because I could of made the sides stronger. Also cause the sides are just on layer of cardboard when the body of the shield has like 5 layers so I want the sides to be as strong as the base.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the it because it show building traits and construction traits also design traits CTE program at Hastings High School. This helps me get jobs that need building and design skill and this cardboard shield i built help me make my building skills better.  

My project connects to careers in being a stocker for a store merchindise stocker and a builder because it shows I know how to build and construct stuff.  So this will help me get a good paying job in the future when I am older. So like jobs that need building and design traits I could do sense now I have those traits.
