Using wax paper, strawbees, and string I created a bat-shaped kite because I thought that it would look cool. I also thought that it would glide better and farther than the other kites.
During this process, I learned how to use the connectors, which ones work best with the shape, and what would help make the strongest base.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I was able to see if I was making progress or if I was making it worse.
A challenge I overcame on this project was that the wax paper kept ripping when I was tying it. I was able to fix it by getting a hole puncher so it didn't rip as easily.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how I put the wax paper on the kite. The reason why I would change it is because it had flaps so it was messing it up a little bit.
