• Using cardboard from my teacher, I created cardboard steamboat because me and my partner thought it would fun to make something a bit more challenging.

• During this process, I learned how to make different things with cardboard.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I drew a picture of what I was going to make. And then I started to build the boat with cardboard and hot glue. Then I took the video.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was the shaping. I was able to do it by cutting the foam board to angle it.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the front of the boat. The reason why I would change it is because it looks as if you took a rectangle and a triangle and put them together.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Construction trades and Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.  

• My project connects to careers in Engineering and Construction because we drew a picture and built it.
