Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need Micro bit, charger, iPad, and computer for my project.
What is your plan to create in this project?
My plan is to just experiment a bunch of things.
What unique qualities will your project have?
A unique quality my project will have is I get to choose what happens.
Almost finished name just need to make t upright.
Wasent here
Finished name and started to think about project.
Made smiley and sad face, and started to make a dice.
Made rock, paper, scissors. And started to make a bird game.
finished my crashy bird game, and made a flashing heart. Started and finished snap the dot.
I'm almost done with crashy bird and I finished my dice.
Created hot potato, tug of LED, compass, and smiley buttons.
Finished my micro codes and turned it in
Using my Chromebook, micro bit, and plug in. I created a bunch of different codes, including my name, rock paper scissors, a dice, crashy bird, smiley and sad face, a flashy heart, snap the dot, hot potato, tug of LED, and a compass. My favorite codes I made are rock paper scissors, and the dice, they were fun to make.
During this process, I learned how to program and use a micro bit. This experience encourages me to think critically and problem-solve as I improve my designs. It was fun to learn how to use a micro bit though.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered learner because I learned and understood how to use a micro bit which takes a lot of thinking and learning. I was also a knowledge constructor because I went through a bunch of issues/problems and I developed ideas.
A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out how the micro bit worked even after i watched a couple of videos and did not understand. I was able to do it by keep trying and doing random stuff until i got less confused then watched a couple videos of it. It took a lot of thinking but in the end programing a micro bit made a lot of sense.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change instead of doing a bunch of small projects and only a couple of big ones and do more big ones instead. The reason why I would change it is because id like to have more bigger projects. I have so many small that were easy to do so doing more challenging ones would be better.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to this because I had to do video production.
My project connects to careers in Embedded Software Engineer because Embedded Software Engineer focuses on developing the software that runs on embedded systems and microcontrollers, often using languages like C. Similar to my micro bit project because my micro bit project focuses on programing it.Which means they connect to eachother.
