Using EDU, I programmed my robot to spin by writing the necessary code. Through this process, I learned how to control its movements and refine its functionality. By adjusting commands and testing different sequences, I ensured that the robot could rotate smoothly. This experience not only helped me improve my coding skills
During this process, I learned the fundamentals of coding a robot and how to control its movements through programming. By experimenting with different commands and sequences, I gained a deeper understanding of how code translates into physical actions. This experience helped me develop problem-solving skills and strengthened my ability to think logically, which are essential in robotics and programming.
The seven standards of the class—Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator—represent key areas of growth and development. My project connects to the Global Collaborator standard because I am sharing my work with the world. By presenting my project to a broader audience, I am engaging with others, exchanging ideas, and contributing to a wider community.
One of the biggest challenges I faced during this project was not being at school most days, which made it difficult to stay on track. However, I was determined to complete my work, so I pushed myself to make up for lost time. By focusing and working efficiently, I was able to finish the remaining parts of my project despite the setbacks. This experience taught me the importance of perseverance and time management in overcoming obstacles.
If I had the chance to do this again, I would make my robot perform a more exciting action instead of just moving in a circle. I know I could have pushed myself to create something more impressive, whether it was adding new movements, interactive features, or a more complex sequence. This change would have made the project more engaging and would have allowed me to challenge myself further in coding and robotics. Looking back, I see the potential for improvement, and next time, I would aim to make the robot do something truly unique.
Hastings High School's Career and Technical Education (CTE) program provides students with a variety of opportunities to explore different fields, including Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project aligns with the Computer Programming CTE program because it required coding and problem-solving skills to bring it to life. Through this experience, I gained valuable knowledge in programming, learning how to develop and refine digital functions, which connects directly to the concepts taught in the program.
My project connects to careers in computer programming because it involved writing code to control and execute various functions. By programming different elements, I gained hands-on experience in problem-solving, logical thinking, and technical skills—key aspects of a career in computer programming. This process helped me understand how programmers develop and refine digital systems, reinforcing the importance of coding in modern technology and innovation.
