Using reverse engineering, I destroyed a boombox because I wanted to see what was on the inside of a boombox. I saw the motherboard which had a whole bunch of wires attached to it and it had a control thing that helped"tell" the boombox what it was supposed to do.
During this process, I learned that it can be very difficult to destroy a boombox that has been together for a long time, especially since a lot of dirt was also in the boombox from it being outside or in something that it collected dirt and dust. .
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to innovative designer because i had to take apart a boombox to figure out what was on the inside and what I could and could not break.
A challenge I overcame on this project was not being able to get the back off of the boombox because some of the screws were either broken in the back, rusted to the point they would not unscrew, or filled with dirt. I was able to do it by breaking or cutting the screws so that they would come out and I would be able to get it off without destroying everything in the inside.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how i took apart the boombox. The reason why I would change it is because I broke the plastic on the front of the boombox because it would not come apart because there was a screw that wound not come out of the back.
This project connect to careers in engineering because I have to take it apart and figure out what was in the inside. I wanted to be able to put it back together but I kinda destroyed the outside to much.
