Using an app called I-Motion to create a stop-motion movie. For the project, I chose to use Legos as my characters and props. The process was both easy to learn and a lot of fun to experiment with. This experience showed me how creative and engaging stop-motion animation can be.
During this process, I became familiar with how to use the iMotion app. I explored its different features and learned how to capture frames effectively. I also picked up some basic techniques for creating smooth stop-motion animation, like keeping the camera steady and making small movements between shots. Overall, the experience helped me understand the fundamentals of stop-motion filmmaking.
The7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project connects with the Global Collaborator standard. This is because it is shared on the website MrRenner.com, allowing people from anywhere to view and engage with my work.
One challenge I faced during this project was not knowing how to use the iMotion app. At first, I wasn’t sure how to start or use its features to make a stop-motion video. To overcome this, I watched examples made by other people to see how they created their videos. This helped me understand the process better and gave me the confidence to create my own stop-motion project successfully.
If I had the chance to do this project again, I would try to avoid being so shaky with the camera. The shakiness made the video look a little rough and unsteady. I think a smoother video would look more professional and be easier to watch. To fix this, I would use a tripod or find a stable surface to keep the camera still while filming. .
Hastings High School's Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program offers a wide variety of career-focused courses. These include Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Digital Multimedia program. This is because it involves creating a stop-motion video, which uses digital tools and creative techniques to produce multimedia content.
My project is related to careers in graphic design because it involves creating visual content. Graphic designers use images, colors, and layouts to communicate messages effectively. Similarly, my project focuses on producing visually engaging content that captures the viewer's attention, much like the work of a graphic designer.
