What unique qualities will your project have?

Creating the sword design

• Using the tools that I have had, I created a sword because I never had made one but I've seen them be made.

• During this process, I learned that it takes time to make stuff and it is not as easy as you think.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because my group had to create an idea on what to build.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was being able to make the base. I was able to do it by making a circle on the box and cutting it out twice, then twisting the carboard into a circle, then making a hole to put the sword into it.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change how sharp it is because I really cant make it sharp. The reason why I would change it is because its really dull.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the construction trades CTE program at Hastings High School.  

• My project connects to careers in the building trades because we used tools to build something.
