day 1
today we experiment and moved our robot around
day 2
we made it sling shoot balls
day 3
we made it work
day 4
day 5
our robot died a lot
day 6
today we tried to get a video of it but it failed
day 7
today me and Audrey got our video
day 8
I finished my reflection
Using Dash, I created code to make it throw a ball we saw a launcher and wanted to make it through programming. It was a fun challenge to figure out how to control the motion and timing. Seeing it successfully launch the ball was really exciting.
During this process, I learned how to code a robot to perform a specific action. It was interesting to see how programming could control physical movement. This experience helped me understand how software and hardware work together.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator .My project ties to the Global Collaborator standard because I created a project and shared it on a website for the whole world to see. By doing this, I contributed to a global community and allowed others to learn from or be inspired by my work. It showed how technology can connect us and help share ideas beyond the classroom.
challenge I overcame during this project was the robot dying in the middle of coding. I solved this by charging it fully before continuing. After that, I was able to complete the code successfully.
Given the chance to do this again, I would create a different code to make it work more easily. The reason for this is that the original code kept messing up and was difficult to troubleshoot. Changing the code would save time and make the process smoother.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in software development because, like software developers, I did designing, building, and testing. I had to plan how the code would work, write it, and then fix issues when it didn’t run correctly. This experience gave me a small glimpse into what software developers do in their jobs.
