Barnes & Noble - Summer Reading Program and Give-Away
Kids in grades 1–6 can simply read eight books and earn a free book from any participating Barnes and Noble. Students need to print out the Barnes and Noble Journal, record eight books, write a sentence about their favorite part, and then bring their journal to Barnes and Noble between July 1st and August 31st to choose a free book.
The Scholastic Summer Reading program offers kids an exciting, free, and safe summer reading experience, while helping to provide books to kids with limited or no access over the summer, keeping every child reading. From April 26 through September 3, kids can visit the summer zone in Scholastic Home Base (scholastic.com/homebase), a free digital destination which offers stories, characters, games, and a community of readers. Home Base is moderated for safety 24/7.
New York Islanders Reading Leaders
Children grades K-8 can register for the New York Islanders Reading Leaders reading tracker. They use their login information to track time spent reading and to enter for a chance to win great prizes. Reading Leaders that have read a minimum of 400 minutes a month are eligible for prize drawings. That’s only 13 minutes a day!
