In this class, I ask that you respect each other and myself by adhering to some common ground rules.
Come to zoom class/appointment on time and ready to participate
Connect with me, your classmates, and our canvas course modules for about 8-12 hours per week.
Try to keep your camera on during class/appointments whenever possible. It’s easier to connect and become a family/community when we can see each other. However, I understand that sometimes it is not possible.
If you must miss an class or planning to be absent, please let me know via a message in CANVAS inbox so that I know you are ok.
If you want to talk to me about something that only concerns you, like an absence, an assignment, or your grade, please speak to me outside of class time via a message in my CANVAS inbox or a zoom appointment.
Keep in mind that everything we do in this course builds upon the previous concepts; therefore it is useful that you stay current with assignments and attend every (zoom) appointment. If you miss an appointment, you will miss information that will affect you in the weeks to come so please connect with me, so that we can catch you up. When held, class meetings will be recorded for your convenience. Hartnell College’s attendance policy states “Absences in excess of two weeks (consecutive or non-consecutive) may result in the student being dropped. It is the responsibility of the student to drop from courses they do not wish to attend.”
Often referred to as "netiquette," here is a gentle reminder of the interaction practices and rules we'll follow in all our interactions in this course.
If you ever feel that someone is not following these rules, please send me an email using the Canvas Inbox and describe your concerns.
