Term 5

This term we have been investigating the following statement:

The transformation of resources may be the key to sustainability.”

We have followed different lines of inquiry to help us discover:

  • The properties of materials.

  • The suitability of materials.

  • How to ethically resource and use materials.

The children planned, created and evaluated their own space themed sewing projects.

The children explored how fabric is made. They created their own paper weaving.

The children explored the idea of transformation from a seed to a plant. They planted their own seeds and are excited to watch them grow!

The children have enjoyed exploring our Marvellous Materials topic during outdoor learning.

The pupils had great fun completing a materials hunt. They read a piece of text and found the material it described.

The pupils also made an umbrella out of tin foil as part of their waterproof scientific experiment! They had great fun testing their umbrellas to see if they kept the teddy bear dry!
