Week 1
For our provocation this term, the children explored different kinds of technology. They had fun guessing what different technology is used for as well as seeing how much technology has changed in such a short space of time.

Computing
We continued learning about technology and even made some of our own out of different materials in independent inquiry.
We also started our learning about the Bee Bot robot in computing and how it works!
Week 2
Computing
This week we learnt how to move our Beebots forwards and backwards. we created our own roads for them and gave them instructions to move.

Week 3
Year One had a visit from some police officers who talked to us all about road safety for road safety week this week.
Week 4
Science
In our science lesson this week we learnt about Evergreen and Deciduous trees. We then went on a tree hunt to identify the trees that we have in our school grounds!
Boccia and Kurling event
Some of our Year 1 pupils were lucky enough to team up with St Johns secondary school, to be taught the skills of Boccia and Kurling!

Elf Day! - Elm class had great fun on Elf Day!
Week 6
Care home visit
Year 1 really enjoyed their trip to Fairby Grange care home. They sang some songs to the residents and handed out their handmade Chirstmas cards. They were very surprised to hear about the residents who were over 100 years old!
