This week we have been working with numbers to 10. The children have been also grouping objects by colour, size, shape etc.

The children explored being creative in a variety of ways.

The children have enjoyed working on their fine motor skills during early morning work.

Outdoor PE
This week, the children enjoyed their very first session with the cricket coach. They had great fun taking part in a range of exciting team games while building their skills and teamwork.
PSHE
The children worked in pairs to discuss safe and unsafe household items.
Early morning work
Inquiry
The children participated in a science investigation where they used their five senses to solve different questions. They especially enjoyed working alongside children from the other class.
DT
This week, the children took part in a fun geography activity. Working in groups, they searched the classroom for hidden fruit pictures and then placed them on world maps to show where each fruit originated. It was wonderful to see their teamwork, curiosity, and excitement as they discovered just how far their favourite fruits travel!
TTRS day!!
Art
This week, the children explored using a single colour to create imaginative paintings. They experimented with adding white and black to make different tints and shades, producing some wonderful tonal artwork.
Art
This week the children used their problem solving skills. Each child was given half of a photograph of a piece of fruit and challenged to imagine and draw the missing half. Using their understanding of tone and shading, they created beautifully detailed and realistic pieces of artwork.
Maths
This week, the children have been learning about parts and wholes in maths. They loved using cubes and part–part–whole models to explore how numbers can be split and combined in different ways.
Outdoor PE- cricket
Year 1 enjoyed their final cricket session with a Spartun Sports coach. They practised essential skills like underarm throws and catching and then applied these skills to a game.
RE
This term we have been learning about the Christianity religion. The children have learnt about a variety of bible stories during this term. This week they each designed their own bible front covers using their knowledge of Christianity.
