Where did football originate from?
When we think 'deviance' the first thing that comes to mind is someone cheating or acting outside the norms of society.
Deviance can come in two different forms, positive and negative.
Negative deviance is a concept that we are more aware of in sporting society. Examples of these are ;
Performance Enhancement Drugs (PED's)
Gamesmanship
Violence

The World Anti-Doping Agency decided to ban Russia from any major competitions.
Why do you think the Russian athletes may have agreed to taking PED's?
Evander Holyfield vs. Mike Tyson II, billed as "The Sound and the Fury" and afterwards infamously referred to as "The Bite Fight" Tyson bit off part of Holyfield's ear. Tyson was disqualified from the match and lost his boxing license, though it was later reinstated.
