Year 11 Activities

On this page there will be a number of activities for you to try, this will depend on what materials you have access to at home. The activities will be based on tasks that we would look at in class, especially some of the themes you would view in year 1, such as potraits, natural form etc. Hopefully this will give you a chance to experiment at home and a small insight into some of the elements we would address in class.I will keep adding to this section as we develop.

In this section we will focus on the use of line in which to create interesting visual effects as well as emotion and intensity through portraits.

Line is one of the formal elements of art, all art uses line in one form or another. This is demonstrated through the application of the line, the media use, type of line, and the density of the line.

The type of line can be described in many ways, multidirectional, harsh, chaotic, erractic, dashes, contured, curved, sharp, broken, overlaid and so forth.

Many artists use line as a defining feature of their art, a focal point or their prefered technique.

Line can alter the perspective of a piece of art, the emotion and the feeling potrayed by the art itself. This may define how you as a viewer we then intepret the art.
