Water Reflection

First we went to the circle and I looked at the fireplace it looked like a mini pond to me. My teacher handed out iPads. I was one of the people who got an iPad. I got to take pictures of my teacher and a classmate setting up bobbing for apples. We tested it out. Then more and more people came to do the apples and I walked a little back. I saw the shimmering reflection onto the bank. I watched my classmate throw his apple at a tree and another threw his at a rock in the river. Then I was looking back through the trees watching the glimmering sun fall down behind the mountain and the sticky, muddy river glimmer off the sand. Icicles hung down the beautiful ice and water flowed through the holes in the ice. Other people bobbed for apples and then my teacher said, “you can bob for apples again” and so people did and everybody enjoyed there adventures at Forest Friday. -AS

Bobbing in the Forest

First, we walked down from the geodome to the fire circle. My teacher put up a rope that he takes down at the end of Forest Friday. A few minutes later I was headed to the brook with a classmate. We ducked under bushes, slid down a bank, jumped across the brook and...the apples were in the brook! I decided that bobbing for apples in the brook was not the worst place to bob for apples, besides the water did not taste bad. After a few minutes, I got it. I pushed against a rock and bit the stem. I put my arms like I was king! My teacher asked me if I got it. I took the apple out of my mouth and said yes. She told me to turn around so she could snap a picture so I turned around and snapped my picture. It was a fantastic moment. -IDE

Exploring in Winter

2/8/19 As we gathered around the geo-dome to get ready to descend into the forest the cisp chilly air hit my face as we headed down the path to the forest. The forest was behind the school clocked in white snow and it was still snowing the trees towered over my head with their massive height then my teacher said we could explore. I headed for my t-p built on the edge of the boundary of where the max range of exploring was set up by the teachers. It was a relief to be outside of the hot school building. My TP had a great load of awesome stuff like a very big stick with a elm bark beetle fossil on it and a stick with red fungus on it the color of dried blood and me and my teacher found this out on the naturalist app on the ipads. We got the ipads from a project my teacher set up on donors choose.com. Of to the right of my t-p was a brook, now frozen over mostly and to the left was the school. And directly behind me was the firepit circle.-SD

Playing Together

2/8/19 In the woods we were pretending to hunt and a friend and another friend was to it was fun we got along. We were playing house a lot of people were playing we played nicely together fore once! -LJ

Forest Friday Adventures

2/8/19 We started walking down the ice path. I was carrying a bag of red and green apples for apple bobbing.I went over the bridge as my friend caught up to me.I was trying to think of pacific details for my reflection.When we got down to are meeting circle where we share are time in the woods I looked down at the snowy fire pit it looked like a dirty pond to me.I saw a seat on the far side of the circle so I ran as fast as I could and tolk it.My teacher was talking about how to apple bobb and how to be safe.Even though I already knew I did not say anything for the people who did not know.My teacher taped ten heads and said go take pictures of the woods I was one of the ten that got an ipad.I got a ipad and went straight to to the fossils of the plant.Its so cool I wish others could see it with me.I took two or three pictures of that then found some blue moss! I was amazed.Then I got a little bored of taking pictures so I gave my ipad to my teacher and went to find my friends in the huge forest.They were doing a tour of the forest.There's apple bobbing I told my friends.Im going to do it I said.Once I was done I started to take videos of my friend singing wolfie goes to the gym.Then the wisel blew it was time to go.I said goodbye to the forest.Then I watched the snowy sky as I walked up the frozen path.It was late in the afternoon and I was thinking of things to add in my reflection. -RF

Winter Wonderland

At forest friday 3U and 3R used ipads. I could hear the crunchy snow well we talk all about our spot. I noticed some kids bobbing for apples. My friend just got me a apple out of the cold water... suddenly i had a ipad in my hands. I smelled the cold crisp air well walking in the white snow. We walked to where the old car wreck was. We sat the old rusty wheel. After i gave my friend the ipad. We did the song wolfie at the gym. It was funny. It was a magical day.-LG

Forest Adventures

At forest friday I smalled fresh air it smelled like sugar and rainbows it smelled so good that I could stay out there for days.I played with my friends. We had a snow ball contest and guess who won, I did! It was the best time and we got to bob for apples. I had to lay on my stomach and my nose was in the water. I got to throw my apple a tree. That was fun and we got to use ipads when I got one I felt good my body started to feel jiggle and pow, I was so excited I wanted a ipad so bad but I didn't get one the first time but I was good with it.Then I just figured out that we could bob for another apple so I did and it started again my face felt cold my nose felt cold and my apple came right out of that water and then water water went everywhere. That was the best forest friday ever. -DP

Winter Forest

2/1/19 Out in the forest we came to the fort and started packing snow onto the fort so it looks like we painted it and not just plane old sticks.We found some ice and we started jumping on the ice but it broke we streamed but it was only a 1 inch down but we feel into mud eeeeeeeeeeeyw. Then we found a steap hill to slide on and it gave me a wedgy . I felt wet and I was frezing and the rest was just freazing. Then they called smores everyone darted for them they where gooey and warm just how i like it.-AA

Sword Sticks

2/1/19 Today at forest Friday I played with my friends we were sword fighting with sticks. My friends had the thinast ones I on the other hand had the big round one. Then we played wrestling for a while we stopped when one of my friends got white washed we sat at the campfire until it was time to have smores I dropped my first one then I got my second one it was pretty good. I liked the forest today.-AI

Walking In a Snow Globe

As l was in the snow, I heard a sound like breaking glass and it was the snow. I was surprised. I thought it was just going to be soft but I guess I was wrong. It had a hard surface and it was fluffy underneath. I felt like I was in a snow globe. It was that cold! I definitely was not going to take off my coat. I played with one of my friends. We played a video game thing. I was just going with the flow. I have to admit, it was a lot of fun to play. My friends were being crazy as usual. And that was my Forest Friday.-EH

The Frozen Woods

1/18/19 I really enjoyed having fun time at Forest Friday because I went on the ice in the winter! Today and found ice sculptures. I also found some of the water from the brook still running. The ice was so slippery I had to stay on my friggid knees. My body felt like an icicle. It felt like I could not move. I had a lot of fun today. -EH

Down to Forest Friday

It was forest friday today and me and my class and Mrs. Raneys class ran up the hill to get first place in line to get to the forest.Today I was glad we didn’t have to wear snowshoes.Then we went down a hill past some snow-covered trees and across the stream.We walked over to the circle up place. Front and back and left there are trees and the right side is cut down trees and past the trees behind is a car wreck and a lot of trash.Today Mrs. Raney introduced us to some ipads to use. I didn’t get one when the first kids got ipads.Me and Isaac started searching for treasure like usual but Ian came over and we stopped searching .Lilly P. also came over and we all started a trash search then the whistle for ipad switching blew but no luck.I went over to a place where there were ipads for when the whistle blew I might get one after few minutes and I did.I went back to my friend and they were happy.A few minutes later I got stuck and pulled myself out of the boots (accidentally) and went to the circle up place. I was there for a while and then went back to my friends. The whistle for circle up blew and I went back to the circle up place and we went up the hill past the snow covered trees and while I was running down the hill I thought about my adventures what a day I thought and everybody went inside.-NM

The Blazing Fire

1/18/19: The first thing we did was a few friends and me met by the crackeling fire and got ready to build the snow forts. One friend, the instruckter led us to the building space and we are on two seprate teams. One team made there fort out of sticks and my team made ours out of snow. This is asome. -OM
