4/5/19 Today was so funny. Me and a few friends created a ride. You get on it and someone shakes it. I screamed with joy. It was so fun. We had a line of people. Some people just came to help shake the tree. We called it the Nimbas 300. It felt like a broomstick. I had to sing the Harry Potter music with i. Some people rode it in different ways. Some people rode upside down, some people sat up, some people layed on their bellys and held on. I lafed. Other people hogged it and did not give otherpeople a chance to ride it so I told my teacher and there was a line. You had a turn and then the person riding shakes for the next person. Then the whistle blew and it was time to go. -LA
5/2/19 As I wrapped my jaket around the logs Mrs. Raney started to speak. Then some people went to go to the other end of the brook. We trotted to the other part of the brook and up and down the dichis. Then we saw the river. It was bigger than last time. I got an ipad and rushed into the raging quick sand river flowing as fast a deer run.Boys skipped rocks while girls splashed into the river. As I snapped a picture as my boot filled with mush and ice cube water and my socks got soaked during our Forest Thursday!
5/2/19 On Thursday we went out into forest classroom. We went over to the circle to review our rules to help build a fort and to be csr. After that we went over to the flooded zone. I went in the water to get to a friend. When I got over to her I saw a lot of bubbles I took my socks off so they would not get wet. There was a big log that people were walking across. I chickened out 2 times. When it was my turn I was so so so so so scared. I thought that I was going to fall in, but I didn’t. The last bump took me like 5 minutes to get over it. When I got to the other side I felt so happy and proud. Then the whistle blew and i sprinted across the water to line up. That was my wet and soggy forest Thursday.
5/2/19 On Forest Thursday I had so much joy in me as I walked to the tree house, me and my friends. 15 minutes later...I went to the brook and someone helped me get in. When I got in, they told me it is quicksand. So I went in and I got stuck then I got out then stuck agen, I could not get out so kids helped me and then I fell plop I got so muddy and icky. A friend helped me then I fell in the deep water then, we left. Next time, I thought, I will be more prepared.
5/2/19 Our teacher said that we could stay here and explore or follow her to the flooding area downstream. The main reason that I went was to see the scaly bark which lived right next to the river. Upclose it looks like a snake's scales. And I stripped off some of the bark to later show my teacher and put it in my pocket. I went to show her and she was pointing at something. I looked over and she was pointing at some leaves. I immediately recognized as the kind of leaves that frogs like to hide under and garden snakes like to use it as a hunting ground and I told her that. I enjoyed Forest Thursday!
