Academic
Parent involvement is one of the biggest factors in whether or not a student will be successful at Rio Norte. While we want to encourage autonomy at the jr. high level, we find that students are generally not fully ready for their parents to take a "hands off" approach. Our motto is, "Trust, but verify."
ALL student progress is accessed through the portal. Report cards and progress reports are NOT mailed home.

Jr. High School Matriculation Requirements
To be eligible for 8th grade promotion requirements and the end of the year activities, a minimum of 107.5 credits are required.
Students earn 2.5 credits per class that is passed with a D- or higher. Students have the opportunity of earning a total of 60 credits in 7th grade and 60 credits in 8th grade. Students who earn an F in a class receive 0 credit.
Credit Status Reports will be mailed home quarters 1 and 3 for students who become credit deficient.
Intervention
Our intervention model is built within the school day. We typically offer a Math 7 and Math 8 Parallel Math class that is designed to support the regular Math curriculum and class after school. This class is available depending on district budget and teacher availability. Students are chosen by academic performance and teacher recommendation. Please contact your counselor if your student needs additional support.
More information will be available at a later date regarding After School Intervention.
