Math 7
Math 7 is a rigorous course that covers a variety of topics. Students will be exploring topics that include proportional relationships, percent problems, operations with integers & rational numbers (fractions), equations, inequalities, geometric figures, probability and statistics. Students will receive two consumable textbooks (one first semester and one second semester) that they are expected to bring to class each day. Students will write notes in the textbook, receive additional supplementary notes to fill out, and be required to complete all classwork and homework. Math 7 students will also be expected to complete all study guides and review learned content prior to assessments. Many students are unaware of how to study for exams as they didn't have to do much of that in 6th grade. At Rio we cover so much content each class period, that it is essential for students to review learned material on their own (as well as in class). The best way to study for assessments is to read over notes taken in class, complete the study guide review questions, practice topics on IXL, and ask for help on difficult content. Attendance is also essential for success in math 7. By working together, we will make this a great school year!
