Welcome to Accelerated Math 7. This is a rigorous course designed to prepare students for entry to Algebra 1 in 8th grade. Students will learn California’s Common Core State Standards for grades 7 and 8. They will apply and extend previous understandings of operations with rational numbers, analyze proportional relationships, use random sampling to draw inferences about a population, solve linear equations and linear systems, study the properties and differences of linear and nonlinear functions, and learn several geometry concepts, including two- and three-dimensional space and figures, congruence, and understanding and applying the Pythagorean Theorem.
