Hello and welcome! I am Courtney Koegle and I have the privilege of teaching chemistry at Saugus High School. Prior to coming to Saugus in 2019, I spent seven years teaching 8th grade physical science at Arroyo Seco Junior High. In addition to my classroom teaching responsibilities, I have also served as the Science Department Chair, the Science Olympiad Coach, and Automation and Robotics exploratory instructor. I was part of the team that authored the Hart District's 8th grade NGSS Physical Science curriculum, in addition to piloting and revising the curriculum. My goal is to serve the students of the William S. Hart High School District by providing them with a rigorous, engaging, and exciting educational experience which illuminates the role that chemistry plays in earth's systems.
When not working, I spend my time with my wonderful husband Mike, who teaches biology at Academy of the Canyons, my amazing son Cole who will be a freshman this year at AOC, and our three rescue pups Fiona, Hazel, and Rodin. We love to adventure, hike, rock climb, backpack, camp, adventure out on our dirt bikes and ATCs, and explore our beautiful planet. We do what we can to minimize our impact on the earth and hope to inspire others to do the same. We value knowledge, education, compassion, and adventure.
I am honored to be a part of each and every child's educational journey and hope to inspire a life-long love of learning in all of them. I hope I encourage them to be bold, take risks, and be passionate pursuers of knowledge.
