Taking Classes at COC as a High School Student

After students complete their sophomore year, they are eligible to take courses at COC. When high school students take classes at COC, they have two options: College Now and Concurrent enrollment or Dual enrollment. To learn more about the difference between these programs, please visit the link below.

If you need help with the registration process, on the right hand side of this link you will see the option to zoom with a COC advisor. Please take advantage of that service. You can also email COC at earlycollege@canyons.edu

Transcript Information

Taking COC classes affords our students the chance to get credit for both college and high school. In order to get the high school credit, students must request that COC send an official transcript showing completed courses to Canyon High School.

You must have your official transcript sent electronically to Canyon High School through the accredited system provided by College of the Canyons.

To request your transcript, please go to your MyCanyons account through COC. In your MyCanyons account, one of the options will allow you to order transcripts. THIS LINK will give you more information. Remember, you want to follow directions for the ONLINE REQUEST. When you complete this method, you will need to send the transcript to an email. Please send your official transcripts to our registrar, Delinda Abbott. Her email is dabbott@hartdistrict.org.

If you took COC classes that counted for high school graduation , you will not be cleared for graduation until we have received your official transcript from COC. In order for your transcript to count for class rank or graduation, Canyon High must receive your official transcript no later than March 1st of your senior year.

Exclusively for first-time college students who enroll full-time, Canyons Promise provides the financial support, high-touch academic/counseling contact, and peer collaboration proven to increase student success.

New Student Checklist

New students are classified as those who have NEVER taken courses at College of the Canyons before and are not currently enrolled in high school. If you took classes while you were in high school, but have not taken any College of the Canyons courses since you graduated high school, you would be considered a new student.  If you are a new student, click the below button to get started on your New Student Checklist.
